Parking at Bishops House

Picture
As you may know, the Bishop’s House parking lot is actually an East Campus Employee lot that Duke allows OLLI members to use. Because the number of staff needing parking spaces is on the rise and the number of parking places around our building is limited, it is possible that you may come to class and find the lot full. If that is the case, there are several other options available to you:
  • You can park in any East Employee parking lot with your OLLI parking pass. The nearest one to the Bishop’s House is the lot just inside campus across from Trinity Avenue. Look for the EAE sign. Be sure to pull straight in to a spot all the way up to the bumper, not at an angle, and not leave too much room between cars. If you have a handicapped permit, please park in a designated spot so that another space is left open.
  • You can park for two hours on Markham Avenue or Buchanan Boulevard adjacent to Bishop’s House.
  • You can also park at Asbury United Methodist Church on Markham Avenue.

Please do not park in any other designated lots, in the grass, or in a way that blocks other spaces. Never park in a place that blocks driveways. To do so might result in a ticket, being towed, or both.

One last cautionary note: Because of the heavy pedestrian traffic on East Campus, be extra diligent when coming into or leaving the parking lots, and drive at a slow rate of speed.

Bulletin Boards in Bishops House and JRC

The bulletin boards have been given a fresh look over Summertime.  In Bishops House, there is one near the front door, and two in the coffee area at the back.  In JRC the bulletin board is outside class room 6.

You will find all sorts of OLLI relevant information on these bulletin boards.  If you have something  you would like to be put on the board, please visit or email the Assistant to the Director asstdir@olliatduke.org who will arrange it.
